What is Artekaria?

Through ARTEKARIA, the Foundation EUSKARA KULTUR ELKARGOA aims to secure the use of the Basque language in the Community of Navarre and defend the language rights of Basque speakers in all areas. We are convinced that we have the right to express ourselves in Basque throughout Navarre at all social levels and particularly at those related to the Public Administration. And this is precisely why we consider it legitimate to proceed with ARTEKARIA.

The aims of Artekaria are to:

• To promote the use of the Basque language and consolidate it in both formal and private spheres.
• To recuperate a positive attitude among Basque speakers so that they may use the Basque language in their relations in the aforementioned spheres without hang-ups.
• To predispose the people or institutions with responsibilities and duties in the aforementioned spheres to this end.
• To look after and defend the language rights of the Basque-speaking community.

To this end and in addition to the work reports of Artekaria, this section provides Legislation documents on the protection of minority languages and especially the use of the Basque language in Navarre, Sentences on the application of the law and Reports referring to these subjects.
